[:en]The aim of the research is to examine the study abroad experience impact on Ghanaian students and to examine the way that the form of “travel and learning” contributes to one’s personal development and also to community’s development. The Thesis is entitled as “Academic mobility: Traveling abroad for educational purposes, Case study: WE AfriHug Project in Ghana” and the research question to be answered is the following: To what extend do academic mobility experiences contribute to personal transformation and development? Moreover, the main objectives of this research are the following: To understand the impact of the study abroad experience in terms of personal transformation and new competencies gained and to investigate the impact of the study abroad experience in terms of community impact and development through the individual’s personal transformation.[:it]L’obiettivo della ricerca è quello di investigare cosa motiva gli studenti africano a viaggiare e spostarsi in un altro paese per motivi accademici e quali opportunità possono sfruttare. Inotre la ricerca si pone i seguenti obiettivi:
1. capire come gli programmi educativi, come Erasmus+, contribuiscono al miglioramente dell’educazione e istruzione degli studenti africani e se le conoscenze acquisite saranno poi applicate all’interno del proprio paese di origine.
2. avere una panoramica storica sul turismo come strumento educativo e confrontarlo con le motivazioni attuali e passate.
Lo scopo della ricerca sarà raggiunto rispondendo alla domanda: “Cosa motiva gli studenti africani a viaggiare per motivi accademici?”

 [:el]Ο σκοπός της έρευνας είναι να εξετάσει τον αντίκτυπο της εμπειρίας των σπουδών στο εξωτερικό των Γκανέζων φοιτητών και να εξετάσει τον τρόπο με το οποίο το πρότυπο «Ταξιδεύω και Μαθαίνω» συμβάλλει στην προσωπική ανάπτυξη καθώς και στην ανάπτυξη μια κοινότητας. Ο τίτλος της μεταπτυχιακής εργασίας είναι “Academic mobility: Traveling abroad for educational purposes, Case study: WE AfriHug Project in Ghana” και το ερευνητικό ερώτημα που πρόκειται να απαντηθεί είναι το ακόλουθο: Σε τι βαθμό οι εμπειρίες της ακαδημαϊκής κινητικότητας συμβάλλουν στην προσωπική αλλαγή και ανάπτυξη? Επιπροσθέτως, οι κύριοι στόχοι αυτής της έρευνας είναι οι ακόλουθοι: να κατανοηθεί ο αντίκτυπος της εμπειρίας σπουδών στο εξωτερικό σε όρους προσωπικής αλλαγής και νέων δεξιοτήτων και να εξετάσει τον αντίκτυπο της εμπειρίας σπουδών στο εξωτερικό σε συνάρτηση με τον αντίκτυπο στην κοινωνία και την ανάπτυξη μέσα από την προσωπική αλλαγή.
