The members of WE AfriHug extended their stay in Tamale after the STEP Forward Project and organized of a 3-day Non-formal Education Training Seminar for the 21st Century Skills at the Northern School of Business (Nobisco) in Tamale in cooperation with their local partner, the NGO Sedarvp Ghana.

25 students from different classes of Nobisco took part in the Training and got empowered with soft skills. During the first day, the students expressed their expectations and fears and also identified their talents. Gaining leadership & public speaking skills, encouragement and motivation were some of their expectations for the Training while their fears were related to failure and disappointment. “I had the chance to express myself, it is the first time that I experience the non-formal education and I feel really motivated” stated one of the students during the first day of Training.

During the second day, activities on leadership, public speaking, teamwork and collaboration took place. Through the activities “Front Page” and “Lead to Success’, the students came up with creative ideas, developing their own inclusive and friendly environment. Interesting discussions on significant topics such as teenage pregnancy, corruption, environmental protection and leadership took place.

During the third and last day, the activities focused on debate, the art of persuading and public speaking skills. After a successful 3-day Training, the participants evaluated the seminar, reflected on their experience and received their certificates.

WE AfriHug Project continues at Ghana where a research is taking place on academic mobility, investigating the motivation of African students to study abroad.

I membri di WE AfriHug hanno esteso il loro soggiorno a Tamale dopo il progetto STEP Forward e organizzato un Seminario di formazione non formale di 3 giorni per le competenze del 21 ° secolo presso la Northern School of Business (Nobisco) a Tamale in collaborazione con il loro partner locale, l’ONG Sedarvp Ghana.

25 studenti di diverse classi di Nobisco hanno preso parte alla formazione e sono stati abilitati con competenze trasversali. Durante il primo giorno, gli studenti hanno espresso le loro aspettative e paure e hanno anche identificato i loro talenti. Acquisire leadership e capacità di parlare in pubblico, incoraggiamento e motivazione erano alcune delle loro aspettative per la formazione, mentre le loro paure erano legate al fallimento e alla delusione. “Ho avuto la possibilità di esprimermi, è la prima volta che pratico l’educazione non formale e mi sento davvero motivato” ha dichiarato uno degli studenti durante il primo giorno di allenamento.

Durante la seconda giornata, si sono svolte attività di leadership, public speaking, lavoro di squadra e collaborazione. Attraverso le attività “Front Page” e “Lead to Success”, gli studenti hanno avuto idee creative, sviluppando il loro ambiente inclusivo e amichevole. Interessanti discussioni su argomenti significativi come gravidanza adolescenziale, corruzione, protezione ambientale e leadership hanno avuto luogo.

Durante il terzo e ultimo giorno, le attività si sono incentrate sul dibattito, l’arte di persuadere e le abilità di parlare in pubblico. Dopo un corso di formazione di 3 giorni, i partecipanti hanno valutato il seminario, riflettendo sulla propria esperienza e ricevuto i loro certificati.

WE AfriHug Project continua in Ghana dove si sta svolgendo una ricerca sulla mobilità accademica, indagando sulla motivazione degli studenti africani a studiare all’estero.

Η επόμενη δράση της ομάδας του WE AfriHug στη Γκάνα ήταν η διοργάνωση 3ήμερου Εκπαιδευτικού Σεμιναρίου για τις Δεξιότητες του 21ου αιώνα στο Northern School of Business στο Ταμάλε σε συνεργασία με την τοπική ΜΚΟ Sedarvp Ghana.

Συνολικά συμμετείχαν 25 μαθητές από διάφορες τάξεις του Northern School of Business. Κατά τη διάρκεια της πρώτης ημέρας οι μαθητές εξέφρασαν τις προσδοκίες και τους φόβους τους, εντοπίζοντας τις δυνάμεις και τα ταλέντα τους. Το να κερδίσουν ηγετικές ικανότητες και δημόσια ομιλία αλλά και ενθάρρυνση και κινητοποίηση αποτέλεσαν κάποιες από τις προσδοκίες τους για αυτές τις ημέρες ενώ οι φόβοι τους ήταν σχετικές με την αποτυχία και την απογοήτευση. “Είχα την ευκαιρία να εκφραστώ, είναι η πρώτη φορά που έρχομαι σε επαφή με τη μη-τυπική μάθηση και νιώθω πολύ κινητοποιημένος” δήλωσε ένας μαθητής κατά τη διάρκεια της πρώτης ημέρας.

Κατά τη διάρκεια της δεύτερης ημέρας, πραγματοποιήθηκαν δραστηριότητες πάνω στην ηγεσία, στη δημόσια ομιλία, στην ομαδικότητα, στη συνεργασία και στις επικοινωνιακές δεξιότητες. Μέσα από τις δραστηριότητες «Front Page» και «Lead to Succeed», οι μαθητές βρήκαν δημιουργικές ιδέες και δούλεψαν όλοι μαζί αναπτύσσοντας το δικό τους φιλικό περιβάλλον. Γίνανε συζητήσεις σε σημαντικά θέματα όπως εφηβική εγκυμοσύνη, διαφθορά, περιβαλλοντική προστασία και ηγεσία.

Κατά τη διάρκεια της τρίτης και τελευταίας ημέρας, οι δραστηριότητες εστίασαν σε debate, πειθώ και δεξιότητες δημόσιας ομιλίας. Μετά από μια 3ήμερη επιτυχημένη εκπαίδευση, οι συμμετέχοντες αξιολόγησαν το σεμινάριο, εκφράστηκαν σχετικά με την εμπειρία τους και παρέλαβαν τα πιστοποιητικά τους. Στόχος του εκπαιδευτικού σεμιναρίου ήταν να οδηγηθούν οι μαθητές έξω από τη ζώνη ασφαλείας τους και να εκπαιδευτούν ώστε να αναπτύξουν οριζόντιες δεξιότητες του 21ου αιώνα.

Το WE AfriHug project συνεχίζεται στη Γκάνα, όπου έρευνα για την ακαδημαϊκή κινητικότητα λαμβάνει χώρα ερευνώντας το κίνητρο Αφρικανών φοιτητών να σπουδάσουν στο εξωτερικό.
